I have even personally looked at emails, thought "that looks neat," and then put it in the back of my mind until it was no longer relevant. It's time to rectify that.
Unmechanical: Extended is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It features the same three-hour experience as before, with an additional episode that adds another half hour or so of helicopter robot puzzle gameplay.Unmechanical, the puzzle platformer that released for PC in 2012, is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and PS Vita, publisher Grip Games announced on the PlayStation Blog today.
Unmechanical was originally developed by Talawa Games and Teotl Studios, and features platforming elements similar to Limbo or the Oddworld series. With Unmechanical: Extended Edition, Grip Games is adding more puzzles, but also new characters that will provide additional story details that weren't revealed in the original version. The extended edition runs at 60fps and 1080p on the Xbox One and PS4, and is cross-buy compatible with PS Vita. Grip Games said the extended edition will release later this year, or early 2015. Stay tuned to IGN for updates regarding the specific release date.Unmechanical: Extended Edition is a challenging and rewarding puzzle platformer which requires the player to lift and place objects to progress through the game. You play as a flying robot trying to navigate through a biomechanical complex. While no story is provided through traditional techniques, it is slowly revealed by way of the striking visuals. By the end of the game, you know exactly what is going on. The extended edition features a new episode that is even better than the base game. This episode has a lot more personality and appeal than the original levels. Overall, Unmechanical: Extended Edition is a good platformer with some unique puzzles despite feeling generic at times.
