This is a recording of a Mass for Christmas, interspersing chant with polyphony in all-male vocal performance. The polyphonic selections are thought to have been composed by Leonin (fl.1160-1170), the predecessor of Perotin in Paris. This is a classic recording reissued at mid-price, and shows Ensemble Organum at their best.
