60-е

Толчком к созданию своей первой группы для 16-летнего Винни Фурние послужило творчество The Beatles, которые впервые посетили США как раз в 1964-м, заразив Америку вирусом повальной битломании. 70-е

Дебют группы и вторая пластинка Easy Action имели определенный успех в молодежных кругах, но первый настоящий успех пришел к Alice Cooper в 1971 году с выходом третьего LP Love It to Death, записанного с продюсером Бобом Эзрином (Bob Ezrin, он же был ответственным за некоторые партии клавишных), и выпущенного под маркой крупной компании Warner. Альбом попал на 35 место американского хит-парада, а сингл I’m Eighteen, до сих пор являющийся неотъемлемой частью каждого шоу Купера, - на 21-е.

После турне по Штатам, осенью 71-го группа впервые приехала с гастролями в Европу, где музыкантов принимали с большим воодушевлением. Но настоящим труимфом стал следующий лонгплей Billion Dollar Babies, возглавивший списки популярных пластинок по обе стороны Атлантики. Кроме того, Billion Dollar Babies стал неким завершением первой главы в истории Alice Cooper, в том плане, что с марта 1973 года группа перестала иметь стабильный состав. За последующие почти тридцать лет с Элисом Купером в студии и на концертах переиграло такое количество музыкантов, что упоминать в столь сокращенной статье каждого не представляется возможным Поэтому ниже будет сказано лишь о самых основных и/или самых известных людях когда-либо имевших честь играть с легендарным шок-рокером.

Уже в турне 73-го с Alice Cooper помимо основного состава поехали еще четверо музыкантов, в том числе и гитарист Mick Mashbir, который также принимал участие в записи очередного альбома группы Muscle of Love. Без подобных спектаклей было невозможно представить живое выступление Купера, хотя сам он не раз получал травмы на сцене. Первый серьезный инцидент произошел в июне 75-го в Ванкувере когда во время первой песни со сцены опрокинулся огромный ящик, куда Элис, по сценарию прятался, спасаясь от своих кошмаров. Результат: шесть сломаных ребер и 15 швов на голове.

Шоу 1977 года «King Of The Silver Screen» - турне в поддержку альбома Lace and Whiskey, было построено на видео-спектакле, разворачивающемся на трех гигантских экранах. Результатом этих гастролей стал первый концертный альбом группы The Alice Cooper Show.
Кстати, в двух частях турне Купер выступал с двумя совершенно разными составами. А уж в работе над альбомами Alice Cooper принимали участие по два-три десятка приглашенных музыкантов, но основной состав - образца 1975 - до 1979 года включительно, оставался прежним. В 79-м у Купера появился новый соавтор - Bernie Taupin, автор всех текстов Элтона Джона (Elton John). Куперу он помог в работе над альбомом From the Inside, а познакомились они, находясь на … излечении от алкоголизма.

80-е

Песни для следующей пластинки - Flush The Fashion (1980), Элис Купер писал уже с новыми музыкантами своей группы: гитаристами Davey Johnstone и Fred Mandel. Кроме того, сменилась и ритм-секция: в Alice Cooper появились барабанщик Dennis Conway и басист John LoPresti. (В турне же отправились совершенно другие люди).

Однако бесконечные смены состава и постоянный поиск Купером своей ниши в музыкальном бизнесе не дали никаких результатов. Следующие три альбома - Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin и DaDa были не поняты и не приняты основной массой поклонников творчества Alice Cooper и критиками из-за их чрезмерной экспериментальности. Не отличался стабильностью, как обычно, и состав группы - все три диска были записаны почти тремя разными группами. Лишь к 1986 году Куперу удалось набрать более-менее постоянный состав - гитарист Kane Roberts, ударник David Rosenberg, басисты Donny Kisselback, Kip Winger и клавишник Paul Delph - и записать альбом, который попал в британский Тор-50 и вернул группе если не всю, то какую-то часть былой славы. Тем более, что «хамелеон» Купер вовремя поймал момент и выпустил настоящий металлический диск, звучащий в лучших традициях hard-n-heavy 80-х. А материал для Constrictor (1986), равно как и для следующего диска Raise Your Fist & Yell (1987), был почти полностью написан Купером и Робертсом.

В октябре 86-го группа Alice Cooper дала первый концерт с 1982 года. Гастроли в поддержку обоих вышеупомянутых альбомов прошли более, чем успешно (в ходе Constrictor Tour в группе появился новый барабанщик Ken Mary и клавишник Paul Horowitz, которые потом записывали Raise Your Fist And Yell. Но настоящую бомбу Купер приготовил «на сладкое». Вызвав на помощь знаменитого специалиста по рок-хитам Десмонда Чайлда (Desmond Child) и пригласив в студию музыкантов Aerosmith, Bon Jovi и других, он записал один из своих самых известных и успешных альбомов Trash (1989), занявший в британском хит-параде вторую строчку (в США, правда, эту работу оценили чуть ниже - 20-е место).

90-е

Успешно прошло и турне Trashes The World, для которого Купер нанял гитаристов Al Pitrelli и Pete Friesen, басиста Tommy Carradona, клавишника Derek Sherinian и ударника Jonathon Mover. Последний, правда, участвовал лишь в европейской части турне, а затем его место занял Эрик Сингер (Eric Singer, ex-Lita Ford, Gary Moore, Black Sabbath, Badlands). Чуть менее ударным, но, также наделавшим шума, получился следующий альбом Неу Stoopid с такими гостями, как: Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Guns’N’Roses, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Vinnie Moore, Mick Mars и Nikki Sixx, оба - Mötley Crüe) и др. В совместный тур с Judas Priest, Motörhead и Metal Church с Купером поехали Singer (потом его сменил Jimmy DeGrasso, ex-Y&T), Шериньян, новый басист Greg Smith и новый гитарист Stef Burns.

В таком составе был записан следующий альбом The Last Temptation, получившийся значительно тяжелее предыдущих коммерческих дисков Trash и Hey Stoopid (1991).

Следующее турне имело место быть только два года спустя, в 1996 году. На одном из концертов был записан концертный диск A Fistful of Alice (1997). Кроме того, Купер исполнил партию Короля Ирода в очередной версии вебберовского «Jesus Christ Superstar», а также собрал воедино редкие записи периода The Spiders и раннего Alice Cooper, и выпустил эти архивы в виде бокса из 4-х CD The Life & Crimes Of Alice Cooper.

2000-е

Наконец, в 2000 году у Alice Cooper вышел новый, крайне тяжелый альбом Brutal Planet, по звучанию напоминающий творения Marilyn Manson. В записи диска принимали участие Смит, Фризен, вернувшийся Эрик Сингер и новый гитарист Royan Roxie. В этом же составе Купер отправился в мировое турне From The Brutal Planet, европейскую часть которого открывал концерт в Санкт-Петербурге, а завершал - концерт в Москве.

Остается добавить, что помимо своей музыкальной деятельности, Винсент Фурние снялся в полутора десятках фильмов, а также создал целый развлекательный комплекс имени своего неизменного спутника - Элиса Купера.

Новый альбом Элис выпустил в 2002-м году и его название Dragon Town, в турне в его поддержку Элис снова посетил Россию.

После этих двух великолепных, но очень неоднозначно принятых альбомов, Элис снова меняет стиль музыки и обращается к гаражному року, с которого он, собственно, и начинал. В итоге альбомы The Eyes Of Alice Cooper и Dirty Diamonds поразили слушателей своей энергетикой и новизной.В ноябре 2007 года Элис в третий раз посетил Россию в рамках тура Psycho Drama.
