Лучшие уровни, лучшие трюки, лучшая музыка и новая доработанная HD обертка. Игра открывает традиционно для Microsoft акцию - Лето аркад. Кто знаком с оригиналом, мгновенно признает старую добрую классику, достаточно прокатиться на знаменитом уровне "Ангар", где ценится Grind, разбивание стекол и прыжки. Вызывают ностальгию и разбросанные буквы из которых можно составить слово Skate, а отсутствие некоторых современных приемчиков вроде Revert, который появился в третьей части воспринимается с улыбкой. Здесь и без этого полно фана. Акцент как и раньше, сделан на двухминутные заезды и выполнения небольших заданий. Например просят собрать слово Skate или найти спрятанные DVD, а в предыдущих частях игры необходимо было искать кассеты. Само собой есть испытания на очки, баллы даются за непрерывное комбо и за всевозможные трюки. Крутые финты вам придется приобретать в специальном магазине, там же улучшаются характеристики скейтеров. В качестве валюты - доллары. Их можно заработать выполнив карьерные задания. Кроме карьеры, есть свободное катание без ограничения времени.
