События Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag развиваются в 1715 году. Пираты правят Карибами и даже основали собственную Республику, где коррупция, алчность и жестокость встречаются на каждом шагу. Среди всего этого беспорядка можно выделить дерзкого молодого капитана по имени Эдвард Кенуэй.
